Just back from a fantastic day at an Afternoon Tea event with Nora Roberts last weekend, in Cong, Co Mayo.
She is a longtime visitor to Ireland and it features in many of her books. I went with my good pal, Heidi Rice, and the event took place in the stunning grounds of Ashford Castle.
The small town of Cong is very picturesque – so picturesque in fact that it was used as the location for the film The Quiet Man ;).
Heidi Rice and I are certifiably dangerous together though, because we decided to book a very spontaneous trip to Inverness this friday to see Diana Gabaldon talk about her new book, Written In My Own Heart’s Blood, otherwise known as MOBY for the serious fans of her Outlander series.
So, that’s two amazing authors in two weekends – Nora Roberts and Diana Gabaldon, not bad going, eh?!
